Customize the widget

The look is set in Bridge, without code. The behaviors below need one line each.

Colors, text and position

In Settings → Websites → your site → Widget: color, launcher icon or label, greeting, left or right side, when to ask for the visitor's email, and your reply time. Changes show on your site right away.

Open the chat from your own button

html
<button onclick="Bridge.open()">Talk to us</button>

Bridge.close() and Bridge.toggle() work the same way.

A link that opens the chat

Add ?bridge_open=1 to any URL of your site: the page opens with the chat open, and the parameter is removed from the address bar. Bridge's own emails use it to bring visitors back to the conversation.

text
https://yoursite.com/pricing?bridge_open=1

Hide it on some pages

js
Bridge.hide(); // e.g. on a full-screen checkout
Bridge.show();

Move it above a sticky bar

On mobile, if a bar sits at the bottom of the screen (cart, order summary), lift the button above it, in pixels:

js
Bridge.setOffset({ bottom: 96 });
// and back to normal when the bar is gone
Bridge.setOffset({ bottom: 0 });

side moves it away from the edge the same way. On phones the open chat is full screen, so the offset only moves the button.

Name your buttons

Bridge records clicks on buttons and links with their text, for the visit timeline and for automations triggered by a click. To give a button a clearer or stable name, add data-bridge-track:

html
<a href="/demo" data-bridge-track="Book a demo">Get started →</a>

Consent

If a visitor declines tracking in your cookie banner, tell Bridge. It stops recording pages and clicks for them. The chat keeps working, and their presence ("on the site now") still shows so you can answer them.

js
Bridge.setConsent(false); // and Bridge.setConsent(true) if they accept later
