Bridge docs
Bridge puts a live chat on your website, shows you who is browsing right now, and brings your chats and emails into one inbox.
Quick start
- Add your website in Bridge: Settings → Websites → Add website.
- Paste this snippet on every page of your site, just before </body>. Your key is in Settings → Websites → your site → Install.
html
<script src="https://bridgechat.app/widget.js" data-bridge-key="pk_YOUR_KEY" async></script>- Open your site: the chat button appears at the bottom right. Send yourself a message, it lands in your inbox and you get a notification.
Using Cursor, Claude Code, Lovable, Bolt or v0? Paste our ready-made prompt and your AI assistant installs and connects Bridge for you.
Next steps
- Identify your visitors: see names, emails and your own fields (plan, orders...) instead of anonymous visitors.
- Customize the widget: open it from your own buttons, move it above a sticky bar, respect consent.
- Notifications and email: never miss a message, and reply from your phone or your mailbox.
- JavaScript API: every method, property and event.
How it works
- The script is small (about 5 KB) and loads without slowing your page down. The chat runs in its own frame, so it never clashes with your styles or scripts.
- Each visitor gets a random ID stored in your site's local storage. Bridge sets no cookies.
- The visitor's country and city come from their connection. Their IP address is never stored.
- Pages viewed, time on page and button clicks build the visit timeline you see next to each conversation. You can turn this off for visitors who decline tracking.
